About Me

LaurelHuntPedersen

Laurel Hunt Pedersen is the daughter of Max and Louise Jackson Hunt. Following high school graduation in Snowflake, Arizona, Laurel studied Speech and Dramatic Arts at Brigham Young University for two years before marrying.

She spent the next 25 years raising children, serving in ward and stake callings, and teaching piano lessons. Returning to school, Laurel completed an Associated of Science degree from Salt Lake Community College.  Transfering to the University of Utah, Laurel completed requirements for Bachelor of Music degrees in Music History & Literature and Theory & Composition. She also completed a Master of Music in Music History & Literature. While at the “U” Laurel met and married her husband Kevin Pedersen. A fine musician himself, he has been her greatest supporter.

I love studying music history.  It has given me perspective on life.  “Remember, there are more people in the world than yourself. Be modest!  You have not yet invented nor thought anything which others have not thought or invented before.  And should you really have done so, consider it a gift from heaven which you are to share with others.” Robert Schumann.

I hope my music will bring joy to others.  I have been overwhelmed by the response to my music.  It is one of the greatest blessings of my life.

Share music and joy with those around you.  Remember, we call it “house-work”, “home-work” and “yard-work”, but we “play” music.
